Orders & Minimums
MOQ & Order StructureWhat is your Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ)?
Our production minimum order quantity is 300 units per bulk order. We understand that developing fashion brands need agility, so we allow this 300-unit requirement to be divided across up to six styles at a minimum of 50 units per style.
We define individual style slots as follows: one bikini top constitutes one style, one bikini bottom constitutes one style, and a one-piece swimsuit constitutes one style. A matching two-piece bikini set counts as two styles.
Permitted Order Split Configurations:
- 1 style × 300 units = 300 units total
- 2 styles × 150 units = 300 units total
- 4 styles × 75 units = 300 units total
- 6 styles × 50 units = 300 units total
Each individual style allocation can be further divided across multiple colorways and sizes (e.g., XS, S, M, L, XL) according to your sales projections.
Can I split my unit allocation into different colorways and sizes?
Yes. Bikinova Swimwear Co., Ltd. provides complete flexibility for size and color distribution within your 50-unit-per-style minimums. For instance, in a 50-unit allocation of a specific bikini top, you may split the volume across two colorways (e.g., 25 units in Cobalt Blue, 25 units in Olive Green) and grade across multiple size ratios (e.g., 5 × XS, 10 × S, 10 × M).
This structure allows both emerging labels and established retailers to test consumer appetite across multiple SKUs without holding speculative inventory.
Can you assist emerging and start-up swimwear brands?
Yes. A substantial portion of our factory capacity is dedicated to guiding startup designers and fashion entrepreneurs. Because pattern cutting, toiling, grading, sourcing, and CMT sewing are housed together in our London atelier, we can steer founders through technical fabric choices, tension ratios, and regulatory compliance.
Start-up founders can choose between our Ready Designs catalogue (pre-graded, fit-tested blocks that skip upfront tooling charges) or custom development tailored to their unique aesthetic vision.
Factory Origin & Ethical Manufacturing
Studio Location & EthicsWhere are your garments manufactured?
Every single swimwear garment is cut, sewn, trimmed, and inspected inside our dedicated manufacturing studio in North London (Tottenham Hale), UK. We do not subcontract production abroad or pass orders through external agency brokers.
Keeping our operations under direct management in London ensures fair living wages, safe working conditions, verifiable ethical governance, and strict quality control on every stitch. Buyers are always welcome to schedule in-person factory visits.
Where is Bikinova Swimwear Co., Ltd. based?
Our physical facility and creative studio are located at:
Bikinova Swimwear Co., Ltd.
Unit 2B, 186 Bridport Road, London N18 1SJ, United Kingdom.
Operating Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (GMT).
In-person studio meetings, sampling reviews, and factory floor walkthroughs can be booked following an initial digital technical review of your project.
What are your sustainability and ethical practices in production?
We practice slow-fashion principles designed to eliminate the waste typically associated with mass apparel manufacturing:
- Zero Overproduction: We produce exclusively on made-to-order contracts; we hold zero speculative retail stock and avoid excess raw textile consumption.
- Digital Pattern Lay-Planning: Our digital grading and marker-making software maximizes fabric yield, reducing fabric offcut waste by up to 18% and cutting paper consumption by 50%.
- Energy-Efficient Machinery: Industrial machines are fitted with modern brushless servo motors that decrease energy usage by 20%, complemented by 100% low-consumption LED facility lighting.
- Circular Packaging & Offcuts: Shipments travel in recycled or re-used protective packaging. Leftover cutting table remnants are channeled into hair scrunchies, headbands, or ethical textile recyclers.
Materials, Fabrics & Hardware
Raw Materials & SourcingDo you help with swimwear fabric sourcing?
Yes. Navigating technical four-way stretch textiles can be complex. We provide comprehensive fabric sourcing support, connecting your brand directly with reputable Italian and European mills.
Our fabric library includes regenerated nylon (ECONYL®), post-consumer recycled polyester (PET), high-compression shaping knits, crinkle textures, ribbed surfaces, and quick-drying linings. All textiles are tested for chlorine fastness, SPF/UPF 50+ ultraviolet protection, and sun lotion resistance.
Can you assist with custom trims and hardware sourcing?
Yes. We source high-specification trims and hardware from specialist manufacturers in the UK and continental Europe. For bespoke collections, we develop custom branded hardware, including:
- Saltwater- and chlorine-tested metal sliders, rings, and clasp closures.
- Custom engraved metal logo tags and brand charms in matte, gloss, gold, silver, and rose-gold finishes.
- Underwire channels, bra cups, rubber elastic tapes, and bonded drawstrings.
Do you provide custom fabric printing?
Yes. We offer digital dye-sublimation and eco-reactive printing for custom artwork, repeating patterns, and engineered placements. Our digital printing maintains sharp resolution, vibrant colors, and soft hand-feel on recycled polyester and ECONYL® bases without degrading fabric stretch or recovery.
Can you provide brand labels, care labels, and swing tags?
Yes. We provide complete private-label branding packages so garments arrive retail-ready for your distribution channels:
- Branded Neck & Seam Labels: Heat-transferred logo prints, woven damask labels, or recycled satin tags.
- Regulatory Care & Content Labels: Compliant multi-language composition, washing instruction, and country-of-origin tags.
- Point-of-Sale Elements: FSC-certified recycled paper swing tags, self-adhesive hygienic protective liners, and compostable frosted polybags.
Pattern Development & Technical Services
Pattern Cutting & GradingCan you develop master patterns from rough sketches or reference imagery?
Yes. You do not need to be a trained pattern master to begin work with us. Our pattern specialists can work from hand-drawn sketches, inspirational reference photos, moodboards, or physical vintage samples.
To maximize precision, we recommend providing clear annotations highlighting preferred coverage (cheeky, moderate, Brazilian, or full), strap widths, hardware positions, and seam finishing (e.g., clean-finished seamless edges or zig-zag topstitching).
Can you create patterns by copying or modifying existing swimwear garments?
Yes. Many brand owners prefer working from benchmark samples that already fit well. You can send physical garments to our London atelier. We will analyze the pattern geometry, adjust dimensions to your specifications, revise rise heights or leg cuts, and draft a verified, production-ready block.
Who owns the intellectual property and copyright of the patterns?
Custom Developed Patterns: When you commission and pay for custom pattern drafting, toile development, and grading, you retain 100% intellectual property ownership of those bespoke patterns. They will never be shared with or used for any other client.
Ready Designs Catalogue: Styles chosen directly from our pre-developed Private Label catalogue remain the exclusive proprietary property of Bikinova Swimwear Co., Ltd. You own the manufactured garments and the branding applied to them, while the master baseline block remains in our catalogue library.
Do you manufacture styles if my patterns are already graded elsewhere?
Yes. If you already have production-ready patterns digitized in DXF, Gerber, Lectra, or physical card formats, you do not need to repeat development with us. Our technicians will perform a digitizing check and test seam allowances before moving straight to bulk CMT cutting and manufacturing, subject to our 300-unit order minimum.
Do you only manufacture standard commercial sizes?
No. While our private label ready designs cover standard size ranges from XXS to XXL, custom manufacturing can be tailored to any proprietary grade rule or measurement specification. We routinely draft and produce specialty sizing, including cup-sized fuller bust swimwear (D–GG), targeted plus-size contouring, petite cuts, tall torsos, and maternity fits.
Do you make technical tech packs?
We do not produce standalone graphic design tech packs for external use. Instead, Bikinova Swimwear Co., Ltd. acts directly as your technical manufacturing atelier: we convert your ideas, sketches, or samples into physical toiles, master patterns, digital markers, and factory specifications ready for cutting and sewing.
Do you conduct in-person or live garment fittings?
Yes. Precise tension and body fit are the foundation of premium swimwear. We host in-person fitting sessions at our London studio with professional fit models. For international buyers who cannot attend in person, we conduct live-streamed fit evaluations or prepare detailed digital pin-up photo reports indicating necessary dimensional adjustments.
Lead Times, Logistics & Payments
Timelines & Commercial TermsHow long does pattern development and prototype sampling take?
Bespoke pattern drafting and initial toile testing take approximately 4 to 5 weeks. Once the toile silhouette is approved, final prototype samples in your chosen swimwear fabrics typically take 2 to 3 weeks, followed by size grading across the collection (2 to 3 weeks). Ready Designs catalogue styles bypass the pattern creation phase entirely, saving 4 to 6 weeks of front-end development.
How long does CMT bulk swimwear production take?
Bulk cut, make, and trim (CMT) manufacturing generally requires 4 to 8 weeks, starting from the day production fabrics, trims, and approved graded patterns are logged into our factory floor. Total lead times fluctuate based on style construction complexity and factory schedule commitments.
What are your payment terms?
Our payment terms are structured transparently across development milestones:
- Development & Sampling: 100% upfront payment for pattern cutting, toile development, fittings, samples, grading card work, and sample materials.
- Bulk CMT Production: 60% deposit payable upon signing the production purchase order to secure factory line scheduling; the remaining 40% balance is due upon quality inspection sign-off prior to collection or freight dispatch.
- Full Package Production (FPP): Invoiced with upfront fabric procurement schedules.
Can you provide a formal price quote before starting?
Yes. To prepare a detailed cost breakdown, email your design sketches or tech packs, target volume splits, and fabric specifications to [email protected]. Our technical team will generate an estimated CMT price matrix. A binding, definitive unit production cost is finalized and locked upon physical sample sign-off.
Do you ship swimwear orders worldwide?
Yes, Bikinova Swimwear Co., Ltd. serves a global clientele. We ship orders across North America, Europe, Australia, and Asia via express commercial couriers (DHL, FedEx, UPS) and air freight consolidators. International clients can provide their own courier accounts or have our logistics team arrange insured door-to-door delivery.
Are there customs, import tariffs, or taxes to pay?
For UK-based clients, no import tariffs apply because production takes place within the UK. For deliveries outside the UK, shipments are exported under standard Incoterms (typically DAP or EXW). Any destination import tariffs, customs clearance duties, or local value-added taxes are assessed by your country's customs authority and remain the responsibility of the importer.
Do you manufacture related garments like lingerie, activewear, or cover-ups?
Yes. In addition to bikinis and one-piece swimsuits, our specialized stretch-apparel machines and skilled machinists routinely manufacture coordinating resortwear, beach dresses, sarongs, activewear, and unpadded soft-cup lingerie.
